A motivated
homeowner working as part of the design team, helped to create
the dramatic changes to this home. Skilled craftsmen for Blayden
Design/Build, and specialty tradesmen, such as electricians,
plumbers, and drywall installers, helped to transform the home. |
 |
|
| Because this 3,600 square foot
house was on acreage in a beautiful setting, the owners wanted
to stay and remodel rather than move. A two-story 1,400 square
foot addition extended the living space in the front of the
house so the kitchen could be enlarged, transforming a
cumbersome entryway into an inviting living space that is more
welcoming in its appeal. Oak floors throughout the main floor
are inlaid with walnut and maple borders, and the granite entry
is accented with tile inlays to add interest. |
 |
 |
The main floor is now divided
into two rooms, a craft playroom and an exercise room including
a tanning bed. |
 |
 |
On the lower level a home theatre
creates a fun getaway space right at home to watch a movie,
complete with popcorn machine! |
| What do you do with
a racquetball court with 20-foot high ceilings, when you don't
want to play racquetball anymore? You convert the room into two
floors. The lower level became home for the homeowners Hummer,
with space left over for a custom walk-in wine cellar and cigar
room. Finally, changes to the roofline complete the new look of
this impressive home. |
